Savor and Safari: A Day in the Serengeti
Indulge in a delightful lunch at the lodge, then gear up for an exhilarating afternoon game drive in the world-famous Serengeti National Park. As evening falls, enjoy a delicious dinner before drifting off to sleep under the starlit African sky.
Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most iconic safari destination, stretches north to Kenya and borders the majestic Lake Victoria to the west. Its name, derived from the Maasai language, means "endless plains," a fitting description for this vast, breathtaking landscape. The Serengeti is renowned for its awe-inspiring animal migration, a spectacle unlike any other on earth. Each year, nearly one million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras journey from the northern hills to the southern plains during the short rains of October and November, then move west and north from April to June. Witnessing this grand procession of hoofed animals is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Home to the highest concentration of large mammals on the planet, the Serengeti is especially famous for its lions, boasting the largest population anywhere in the world. Besides the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), the park is teeming with a plethora of other iconic wildlife species. For birdwatching enthusiasts, the early and late daylight hours offer prime opportunities to spot some of the more than 518 bird species identified in the Serengeti. Prepare to be mesmerized by the rich diversity and sheer beauty of this legendary safari paradise.
